Tell Me A Story

"Tell me a story" is a narrative-based project that portrays and reflects a part of a person's life via photography and colors. The project came to life by asking individuals to tell a personal story about their favourite interest. By combining the subjects' quotes with my perception of their story, the project merges third-person storytelling with the first person. In other words, by curating the individual artworks and retaining the agency of the quotes, the prints illuminate the subject's story by adding character to the visuals.

Dissonance

My photographs explore dissonance using repetition. All pictures use the style of merging two photos to create chaos. The base images are made exciting by not only adding disorder through the second image but also by evoking emotions in the pictures through the method.

The common factor in most of the pictures is the use of faces: humans, birds and inanimate objects. These faces are used as centres of attention to bring out a different perspective in comparison to the way they are perceived in everyday life.

Lastly, all image ideas were discovered through frequently used phrases. While the project started with the sense of 'order in chaos' or 'calm and chaos,' the assignments took the course of drawing inspiration from common phrases and using simple images to create something different.
